This shortfall was from the original consultants estimates of a basic pool design, ($331,419.00) since then the community has had their input and the design has been altered to reflect community comment. We are awaiting the final drawings, but envisage that the funding required will be more than first estimated.
We had a Christmas Carnival at the end of last year and the profits went towards to Pool fundraising. The night cost over $3300. With sponsorship from local businesses and stalls/raffles/hangi etc we covered the costs of the whole event as well as raising a further $525 towards the Pool.
The Resource Consent Hearing is on 24/08/05. Following a successful hearing the tendering process will begin.
